When I was planning my March 09 wedding, I spent a good while, as I imagine most other Brides do, searching for my perfect pair of wedding shoes. I travelled far and wide and literally scoured the internet, visiting the website of every popular wedding shoe brand going, but I couldn't find anything at all that had that special something. That was until a friend happened to mention Emmy Custom Made Wedding Shoes, of London to me.

Emmy Scarterfield is the innovative designer behind the brand. She has worked for many of the most influential fashion houses in Italy and the UK including Giorgio Armani, Bottega Veneta, Pringle and Mulberry.

I purchased my own wedding shoes from London based Emmy, who were happy to send me samples in the post (charged at £8 per sample – and added to your final bill). I have to say, that my experience of Emmy was a very good one; they were incredibly helpful over the telephone and delivered on time, (expect to wait between 4 and 6 months for your shoes to arrive -there is a long waiting list, so book well in advance, though I know they will prioritise weddings occuring within a smaller timeframe than this – though I imagine a fee will be involved). The only word of caution I have is, make sure you DEFINITELY want to buy Emmy, before you place their 50% non-refundable deposit.
In my opinion, Emmy are the best wedding shoe you can buy – that is, if you are after something exquisitely custom made, with a beautiful vintage look and feel, and that are and adorned with the most divine detail. My own shoes are pictured below:-
