A 1950’s Inspired Bride And Smiles In The Snow…

Good morning!  And a good day it is, because the weekend is just around the corner and I have that feel-good feeling all over.  Yes, today is going to be a day full of feel-good factor on the blog, starting with this fabulous suite of images that was sent in by Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire Wedding Photographer, Tobiah Tayo.  I just love them and adore how Bride Katy is smiling brilliantly in them all! 🙂

Katy & Tyke celebrated their wedding day on 22 December 2010 at the Ramada Plaza in Southport.

Katy opted for 1950's inspired bridal style on her big day and looked fabulous in a beautiful tea length wedding dress chosen from a selection at Copplestones Bridal and a cute Maribu feather shrug from Wonderful Wraps.  She also wore a 1950's style birdcage veil, complete with maribu feathers and a diamante brooch – handmade by Katy herself.

"The 1950's style is so feminine and romantic, a style that would flatter both myself and my two sisters who were my Bridemaids.

The dress was just what I was looking for and I fell in love with its 50's style as you could potentially have so much fun in it! And, I wanted something a little different…"

"The Ramada was the ideal location to enable both sets of immediate family to be present.  The various rooms offered by the venue were adaptable and the right size for the number of guests at our small and intimate wedding.

The venue has stunning sea front views and a modern interior. It has fantastic menu choices and food was exceptional. Lucy Prescott the coordinator could not do enough to ensure that the day was exactly as you wanted it. Every detail was catered for and organised, right down to cones of fish and chips in the evening!"

I love this shot below – Katies Floral Creations providedd all the flowers ont he day…

"Katie was very helpful and spent alot of time discussing options. We wanted a casual floral design that would compliment the dress and it's 50's theme.  We also wanted the Scottish element encorporated  within the flowers as my Dad and uncle were dressed in their Kilts. We went for thistle, lissianthus & calla lilies handtied. We also had various buttonholes for all our guests. The same flowers appeared in all arrangements as a running theme…"

The couple chose a black and white theme when styling their day –

Decor (anything you used to help pretty up your venue)
Black & White Theme with a touch of sparkle – Flower filled mirrored vases and goldfish bowls.  Mirrored bases and crystal jewels and crystal tea light holders.  Seat covers with organza sash.

"It was an amazing cake created after a long consultation with the brides Mum and Dad. The cake was a perfect and lovely gift from my parents…

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

"Be true to who you are and resist (in a tactful way) the influence of your well meaning friends or relatives who may try and take over. Remember they had or will have their chance and in the long run the only people that your wedding will truely matter to is you and your hubby to be.

Try to chill out and not become over obsessed with tiny details that only one person will notice…. you!

Life is not a dress rehersal, be happy and at the end of the day what matters is the two of you being happy. Your wedding day is just that 24 hours, have fun and enjoy it as it will pass very quickly. Stop every now and then throughout your day and just look round and soak it up – 'Dance like no-ones watching, love like you've never been hurt, sing like there's nobady listening and live life like it's heaven on earth.

Oh, and DO NOT under any circumstances spray perfume in your eye in your rush to leave……. late!!! Though the groom with think you are being very emotional and romantic it does sting a bit!"

Hehehe!

Thanks Katy for sending in these helpful details for my readers to be inspired by – big love and congratulations to you and Tyke, and thanks again to the talented Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire Wedding Photographer, Tobiah Tayo, for so kindly allowing reproduction of these photographs…

"Both Tobiah and his Assistant Laura were fantastic – All our guest commented at how amazing the photos are and how unobtrusive they were on the day."
