Tablescapes ~ Wedding Day Decor and Styling Inspiration…

According to my 2010 Annual Reader survey, my readers would like to see more by the way of bridal inspiration boards and wedding venue and decor/styling ideas on these blog pages.  I was excited therefore, a couple of weeks ago, to discover that one of my local wedding industry colleagues was doing something really rather fabulous that fit this bill perfectly.  'Tablescapes' she called them.  And darn pretty they were too!

For those not in the know, according to Blisstree, a tablescape is 'the overall look of your table, and the area around the table. It includes the table centerpiece, the place settings, napkins, decorations, chairs, and anything else used to set the mood of the table.'

Kim, from the 'The Fine & Funky Events Company' – wedding and event stylists in the North East of England, and who styled the beautiful tablescape images in this feature explains more…

"Try looking up a definition of "tablescape" on the world wide web and you will not get very far. Change your search and type in 'beautiful concept wedding inspiration' and you will land right in the middle of a clever lot of people who have showcased their ideas in such a way you cannot help but be inspired. Look a little closer and you will see that they are aptly named 'Tablescapes'.

The shoot below rather than a 'theme' as such, is a collection of items I LOVE, and that just happen to work well together; from vintage bottles, tins, lace, books, doilies, tassled lampshades and church candles.  Raffia chair bows you say? Go on then why not!"

Set amongst this eclectic collection you will find some vintage inspired wedding tationery designed by Purple Peacock, which was captured on camera by Photographer Charlie's Missus.  Vintage, whimsical, rustic, woodland, it's all there and like Kim says it just works!  Fabulous inspiration, no less, for Brides struggling to find a 'theme' that might work for them.  Anything goes – and why should it have to fit a particular theme anyway?

I'm such a sucker for an antique typewriter!!

Kim says…

"I have so many ideas buzzing around my head each and every day and how else could I inspire my lovely Bride and Grooms and show them how they could be really creative when it comes to styling their wedding.  I have actually committed myself to precisely one million more tablescape concepts this year, along with a lovely lot of helpful vendors!".

Wowee Kim! You sure are going to be busy! But I look forward to sharing your ideas with Love My Dress Readers – they LOVE this type of inspiration 🙂
