Royal Wedding Fever ~ Put Aside Your Pessimism and Let The Nation Celebrate…

It might be bank holiday, and you might be lying in your bed right now catching up with some online surfing, or relaxing in the evening before returning to work tomorrow, but there are going to be a whole lot of people crazy busy right now, as they work on perfecting every last minute little detail for the wedding of the century.

Love it or loathe it, you wlll struggle to escape it this week {Newspapers, TV, general gossip all about the place}; Royal Wedding Fever is upon us in earnest as we countdown the final few days before the nuptials of Catherine {she prefers Catherine now, apparently} Middleton and HRH Prince William.  And of course, speculation will be rife; what will her dress be like? Who wil have designed it?  {McQueen, Conran, Oldfield, an unknown?}

Not wanting to antagonise anyone, but for all you pessimists out there, the wedding is more important than you might think; it is an excuse for a world beleaguered by national debt crisis, earthquakes, and war, to come together for the good of one shared common goal.  Celebration. How can uniting around a billion people on a worldwide scale to do exactly that be anything to complain about?  Anti Royalists, put aside your need to be so vocal about the media's obsession with the Royal nuptials {it's not Catherine or William's fault} and see you if you can, just for a day, observe the rest of the nation revere and rejoice in the marriage of two young people, who despite their privileged backgrounds, are essentially committing to love and support one another for the rest of their lives.

And so, to kick off this week with a firm 'I'm VERY excited!' nod to the forthcoming Royal nuptials, I'd like to introduce you to Laurra Nalty of 'One Life Ceremonies', who specialise in writing personal wedding ceremonies.  Laura recently directed a Royal Wedding inspired photoshoot…

"I’m seriously looking forward to the Royal Wedding and really wanted to do something to celebrate by bringing together all the fantastic suppliers I have met in the last year to hold our very own Royal Wedding Photoshoot!

I chose Goldsborough Hall as the venue not only because it’s absolutely stunning but because used to be a princess’s home! Where better to re-create a royal wedding than in the place where Princess Mary once lived! I loved the fact that throughout Goldsborough there are little reminders of its history with many photographs of an original Royal Wedding between Princess Mary and Henry, Viscount Lascelles…"

"I asked photographer
Mark Tierney   to work on the shoot with us, I’d been impressed with his work since we first met last year and knew his moody style would work perfectly with the dark wood, chesterfield suites, dim yellow lamp lights and stunning chandeliers of Goldsborough Hall.  I also enlisted the help of Laura from Little White Book – she is super skilful at creating fantastic photoshoots and had lots of lovely little pieces to add to the shoot from tiny little union jack bunting to handmade garters, tiaras and some amazing shoes!

We wanted to keep the theme quintessentially English with jam and cream scones, tiny cakes and lemon butter cupcake! We even managed to get a very English Wedding cake thanks to Charlotte’s Creative Cakes.

Vic, our model was given a princess make-over by hair and make-p stylist Amanda Mason and the dress was an absolutely beautiful Jesus Piero and Kerry from Mimosa Flowers made a pretty little bouquets to go with the dress, I loved how delicate and pretty they was, just right for a princess!"

Thanks so much Laurra and to everyone involved in this shoot 🙂

I have purposefully kept my coverage of the Royal Wedding to an acceptable number of posts so not to completely milk the whole affair and put some of my readers off. However, you can browse through the other Royal Wedding wedding blog features here – they include this fabulous Royal Wedding inspired street party photoshoot that should be inspiration to anyone wanting to host their own neighbourly celebrations on Friday 🙂

Be sure to also check out the One Life Ceremonies website – I love what these guys do – they make the wedding ceremony of your dreams come possible, which believe me, with the silly outdated and ridiculous strict laws here in the UK, is not that easy.

Have a beautiful bank holiday morning all.

Much love,

Annabel xXx
