Well hello Friday morning! How rather marvellous it is to greet you! 😉
Welcome back my lovers to the usual end of week installation of bridal inspiration board magic. I worked up this set of boards with my own fine Photoshop loving hands and Pinterest obsession this past week, and the subject I chose to share with you is one that makes my heart a flutter – the darling Audrey Hepburn – that delectable creature of gamine beauty, with the most beguiling eyes, youthful looks and incredible sense of style. A style that has hugely inspired Brides and fashionistas with it's timeless elegance for over 50 years now and been solely responsible, I'm sure, for our obsession with little white gloves.
Of course anyone who is familiar with Love My Dress, knows the fondness I have for an era inspired look, and this is one of my favourites.
Audrey Hepburn, I dedicate this little blog post to you and all the many Brides to be in the world today who look to you for timeless and elegang bridal style inspiration…

Whilst her most famous film, Breakfast At Tiffany's, was released in 1961, most people associate Audrey Hepburn with 1950's style glamour – all cinched waist, short fitted jacket with full circle skirt and cute little white gloves – the fashion of the day that was made popular originally by Christian Dior.
In the film Funny Face, Audrey sports a beautiful bateau neck wedding dress which has inspired many a bridal wear designer since, including Blue Bridal Wear {see 1, below}.

When it comes to accessories, think pearls and little white gloves, think a pretty birdcage veil or a short, pouffy 50's style veil. It's all about the chic and the elegant and there is plenty of that out there in blog land for you to gain inspiration from, you can view all the 1950's style blog posts on Love My Dress for a start. Or persuade your Fiance to take you shopping at Tiffanys – talking of which, read the story about this Tiffanys wedding ring – it's pretty fascinating!

You can browse lots of other lovely Audrey Hepburn inspired style inspiration on Love My Dress here. One of my favourites is this wedding – which is one of the very first weddings I blogged about two whole years ago. The Bride looks as though she got married yesterday, such is her timeless style, borrowed entirely from Audrey of course 🙂
