Bridal Inspiration Board #29 ~ Winter Berry…

Morning! It's Friday morning, which means it's time for a weekly set of inspiration boards. This week, the boards have been designed by regular contributor, Michelle of Pocketful of Dreams and focus on that lush shade of red, winter berry.  I'm a stickler for good old red lippy {every girl should have some!} so these boards are a big winner with me.  Check out that gorgeous Pearl Lowe red lace dress below too – a steal from Peacocks at only £50…

Hello everyone,  Well since I created my Winter Spice board for Love My Dress, we've not had a drop. Of snow that is, and I have to say I'm a little disappointed that I've still not had that sprinkling of magic snow, it's just blustery gales and heavy wind. It really is time to batten down the hatches as the weather is set to take a turn for the worse, but being stuck inside does mean one good thing, you get time to browse through all of your favourite wedding blogs like this one. See, always a silver lining. Oh and I've got an exciting competition over on mine today for you to win a piece of eclectic vintage-inspired jewellery so do pop by.

This week I am still inspired by the season, I don't know about you but I find it very difficult to think of pretty spring and blazing summers right now? And what better seasonal palette than a rather festive red and white. Well it's not strictly white, I'm suggesting more a winter white which is a soft creamy colour and much less harsh.

This palette is fabulous mixed with all the neutrals, think natural hessian, burnished brown and slate grey. Even black works well, although this makes the look more dramatic than romantic in my opinion.

And of course the only rule is, the bride must wear a red lip, it's the law. I've become such a fan of red lippy recently, from a girl who has, her whole life, only ever worn neutrals, it's changed my life. Well it's changed the way my face looks at least! You can see from this board just how striking the bride looks with her red lip sat beneath the sheerest of veils. So ethereal and pretty, which is often a hard look to nail where red is concerned, I hope this board just proves that red does not equal lady of the night.

For my beautiful berry bride I have chosen a rather indulgent number in this Temperley London's beautifully romantic ivory lace bridal gown. Delicate floral embroidery and a shower of silver crystals adorn the gown with it's rather gorgeous puddle train. From Net-a-Porter.

As this look is so ethereally beautiful, a bold bouquet would set it off fabulously, made up of one flower-type only to keep it looking chic, like this rose bouquet.

For your maids I have a soft floral lace prom dress designed by none other than Pearl Lowe. With it's long-sleeves this dress is perfect for a winter wedding, all that's needed is a winter white fur shrug like these and I'd even match this dress with winter white tights.

For the boys I'm suggesting a red wool slim-neck tie. The delicate yarn of this tie, from Farfetch, is a nod to the wintry season and would look fabulous with a charcoal grey suit.

The styling for the winter berry look takes inspiration from the season, with a clean and soft neutral base used across the decor pieces from the vases and vessels to the cake. Think dreamy snow and you can't go wrong. Then add in a mix of vibrant red and berry shades full of seasonal flowers and fruits.

You can provide guests with a gift wrapped favour box like those above, wrapped in natural raffia, I also love the snowflake garland above, these are such subtle references to the season and so wouldn't look out of place at a winter wedding, without it becoming too themed.

Best wishes,

Michelle x
