A Most Curious Wedding Fair ~ Saturday 31st March, East London…

What are you up to this weekend? If you're keen to get out and do some research for your wedding, there are a few wedding fairs taking place that you need to know about.

I've already blogged about the Zoe Lem Vintage Wedding Fair taking place this Sunday at The Old Sessions House, Clerkenwell, London.  I'll be visiting at some point and hope to see some of you there 😉

Today I'd like to share details of the wonderful A Most Curious Wedding Fair with you, organised by founder Becky Hoh-Hale, who's glorious vintage wedding featured here on Love My Dress over two years ago now!

A Most Curious Wedding Fair will take place on Saturday 31t March from 11am until 5pm, at York Hall, slap in the heart of East London cool {5-15 Old Ford Road, london, E2 9PJ} – a hop skip and a skinny jean from Brick Lane.  This is the fair for the fashionistas and trend hunters, the Etsy lovers and the music lovers.

Entry is just £3, or £2 for brides to be…

This is the second fair that Becky has organised. The inaugural curious fair took place in Spring last year and was an instant success, with sold-out tickets and over 60 stands, vintage cars, live music, fashion shows…

The show also hosted workshops was hosted by Darling Buds Florists and The Historical Sauces on perfecting a classic vintage inspired red pout on your wedding day…

"We began as a ‘vintage wedding fair’ but while vintage remains dear to our hearts forever and ever till death do us part, we feel there is room for more inspiration in the world of weddings – a response to the general vibe from the brides we meet as well the world of media.

Our suppliers will still favour the 20s, 40s and 50s, which continues to enjoy popularity, but we know that the trend aware, fashion-forward bride and groom want a little more bang for their buck, widening their horizons, and simply want 'cool stuff' at their wedding regardless of era."

And so with this show organiser Becky Hoh-Hale and Gemma Goodwin have set about handpicking over 50 stand holders with the following terms in mind – handmade, daring, bespoke orientated, beautiful, craft, chic, fun, expressive and perhaps a little edgy outlook, with vintage a recurring theme but not a requirement…

Many of the exhibitors on Saturday have a little more of a contemporary slant with fashion conscious ateliers such as Elle award winners Minna, bespoke collar maker Velvet Eccentric, as well as a Suzi McLaughlin who  makes amazing confetti, stationery and floral arrangements from laser cut paper, silk and leather. More paper creations come from Poppy Chancelor and also Gemma Goodwin herself, who also created the beautiful Most Curious promo poster. Moll and Mostin will also be giving DIY keen brides how to create cute paper crafted button holes for their groom!

"We are also really excited about silver and goldsmith Patrick Liang who makes the beautiful You & Me Rings, which feature an imprint of your partners fingerprint on the underside. We want one! Bella Pacella will also be there with their fabulous hats and headwear as worn by Kate Moss in Vogue and Helena Bonham Carter on the red carpet. We have super cute stationery from up and coming designer makers such as I Like Pens and Octavia Plum as well as bigger names including Hello Lucky!"
