Bridal Inspiration Board #44 ~ English Raj // Indian Wedding Style, by Pocketful of Dreams…

It’s been a few weeks since I featured a pretty inspiration board with you all. Don’t worry, I’ve been working on something BIG that I’ll be sharing in good time, I promise, but here’s something pretty for you to admire before I share a real wedding with you this afternoon.  Once again this beautiful inspiration board comes to you from Pocketful of Dreams

Hello Folks,

Well it’s time for a dose of pretty and inspiration now with another bridal mood board and today we’re bringing you something a little different: English-Raj.  This board has been created in conjunction with Pocketful of Dreams‘ newest creative brain, Vicki DeBlasi, who you may have seen gracing the pages of this very blog and I think you’ll agree she brings a certain cosmopolitan flair to the design.

English-Raj embraces all that is glamorous and decadent in a stunning explosion of colour, celebrating the best of British and Indian cultures combined with the sense of a bygone era.

So if you’re feeling a little bold and you fancy creating a riot of colourful luxe at your wedding, then this design could be the one for you…

Heart  Your number one port of call when considering your wedding venue should be the Raj Tent Club who offer a range of gorgeous Raj inspired tents.  With the flexibility to select the ceiling fabric, lights, furniture and accessories you can go full on fabulous with stunning screens, umbrellas, vases and votives to choose from.

Heart  Create relaxed seating areas in your reception venue for your guests to lounge in, full of cushions in bright fabrics: you could even use sari fabric to create personalised cushion covers.  Create a relaxed and intimate ambience with tea lights presented in coloured glass or detailed gold votives.

Heart  You may not want to opt for traditional Indian dress but you can look to stunning Indian wedding outfits for inspiration: think lots of detail, maybe with gold hues for a glamorous look, paired with statement jewellery pieces in luxe gold. And if you’re feeling really bold, why not opt for some henna detailing or a bright pink or orange nail polish which will look fabulous against a white dress.

Heart  You can also look to the patterns commonly found in henna designs for stationery inspiration; use paisley patterns for a sophisticated look or for something more playful, why not use an elephant motif across your paper goods?

Heart  Flowers should be bright and bold, consider a mixture of traditional English flowers mixed in with some more exotic blooms like orchids and presented in coloured glass or metallic vases.  You could also consider utilising oranges in your centrepieces for that added burst of colour.

Heart  Your favours give you a chance to really bring together the British and Indian influences; why not put a little gift at each place setting containing a traditional Indian sweet like Ladoos with something quintessentially British such as a scone or mini fruit cake?

Heart  Offer your guests a desert table with a twist: look to fabulous baking boutique Pistachio Rose for delicious treats such as chocolate naans and chai cupcakes which combine English and Indian flavours.

So what do we think – is anyone brave enough to give this one a try?
