New Vintage Inspired Wedding Shoes by Rachel Simpson, Photographed by Emma Case…

Morning lovers!  OK, firstly, I have to mention this post – I never in a month of Saturday's {I finished the post in the wee hours of Saturday morning} imagined the response it would get this weekend. Mum's of children, no matter how old or at what stage in motherhood you are, you should read all these comments, as should {even more so to be honest}, anyone planning on, or already trying to conceive. Moving, heart warming and so incredibly inspiring.

OK, I usually open the week with a real wedding, but I fancied something a little different this morning – shoooeeees!

As I sit her typing I recall an incident today {that would now be yesterday} where my 6 year old was racing upstairs, having darted in from being outdoors with her friends… "JUST CHANGING SHOES!" she shouted – her Dad coming up after her "you only need one pair of shoes, you don't need any more and you don't need to keep changing". *Sigh*. It was affirmation there and then that men just don't 'get' the shoe thing. It is inherently a female thing, I swear..

I waited for my husband to disappear back down stairs then went in to my girls room, knelt down on the floor next to her, as she was finishing off her buckles, and said 'honey, I get the shoe thing – little girls love to dress up in shoes, and so do big girls, just like Mummy, OK?'  She smiled back sweetly, gave me a huge hug and then belted back down the stairs {motherly heart attack moment} before dashing back off out outside again to be with her friends.

I'll always be a shoe lover, ever since I've known I've been obsessed with heels, boots, flats, you name it.  I recently purchased a tonne of see through storage boxes which are now all lined and stacked up neatly and enable me to locate quickly and easily which pair of heels I want to step in to {highly recommended little home storage tip there – the boxes were cheap as chips from Asda}.

To celebrate my fondness for toe peepers this morning, I have some wonderful images to share with you from the adorable Emma Case – who recently collaborated with vintage inspired wedding shoe designer, Rachel Simpson.  All the beautiful Temperley London dresses in this shoot by the way were provided by the lovely Claire of The Wedding Club

I adore Rachel Simpson, she's a brilliant business woman for a start, which I find super inspiring, but she's also so bloody nice.  Like, really really super nice, smiley, genuine and all the rest.

Her latest collection, which I have seen for myself at The White Gallery and that I featured more recently here is completely marvellous.  For me, it really completes Rachel's current offering of vintage inspired heels, it rounds the collection off so beautifully with a set of designs that takes reference from several decades from the past century. Possibly my favourite pair is 'Ginger' above, inspired by and named after Ms Rogers and her dance shoes.

I also love the Agnes design below;

"An elegant suede peep-toe with delicate scalloped binding and two-tone appliqued fan detail in leather & suede. All tied up beautifully with a soft satin bow, and available in either nude or ivory suede, this is a real signature style…"

Rachel told me that she is completely thrilled to formally reveal her latest collaboration with award-winning photographer Emma Case. This is the company’s third shoot with the alternative wedding photographer, and it would seem their best yet.

“We wanted to go for something a bit different this time, so planned a more fashion-inspired, stylised shoot.  After the beauty of last season’s venue, it was a real challenge using an empty studio, but we had great fun selecting props, including our magical giant pink balloon!”.

The photos launch the new Rachel Simpson collection, in store now, and emphasise the stunning soft colour palette of blush pink, antique gold and warm ivory. A veritable feast of dresses from Fur Coat No Knickers, Naomi Neoh, Temperley London and Timeless Couture compliment the shoes beautifully. As well as their own headpieces which co-ordinate with individual shoes, additional accessories were also supplied by vintage wedding jewellery designers, Laurel Lime and Sharper Millinery.

Modelled beautifully by Talia and Emme and styled by Makeup by Jodie, the new photos sum up the ethos of the Rachel Simpson vintage inspired wedding shoes brand; elegant, understated and with an element of fun.

With some beautiful styles in leather, suede and satin, this collection goes way beyond traditional wedding shoes…
