Here at Love My Dress, we have never made any secret of the fact we adore the work of fine art wedding photographer Naomi Kenton.
Naomi belongs to a very select group of people who have managed to take a portrait of me that doesn't immediately make me want to bury my face in my hands and cry! {Take a peek at the Love My Dress Beauty Series for evidence of this!} She doesn't simply take beautiful photographs though, Naomi is also one of the friendliest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.
Annabel and I were thrilled when Naomi decided to come on board as a sponsor, as we wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone searching for the perfect photographer to capture their wedding day.
Shall we get to know the lady behind the lens a little better?!
'Hello – I’m Naomi
Kenton, I am a fine art style wedding photographer.
I live between
Andover and Newbury (Hampshire/Berkshire area) – but I travel all over the UK
for weddings. I love travelling and I am also
available for weddings worldwide.'
How did you get into
wedding photography?
'I made a career
change a few years ago, so I haven’t always been a photographer. I’ve actually only been photographing
weddings for the past three years, but I am very lucky and happy that it has
taken off so fast – so far I have already shot over 100 weddings and I am
having an amazing time!'
What do you love about
photographing weddings?
'I love everything
about being a wedding photographer! I
love the excitement I feel when I first see the wedding venue– especially if I
am going to be spending the day somewhere really lovely with lots of pretty
things to photograph. I love all
the little details the couple have planned, and seeing their personality through them.
Happy and relaxed clients that understand and appreciate my style
of photography are my favourite, and I really adore weddings that suit my natural
pretty style – such as countryside weddings, rustic weddings, seaside weddings,
home weddings, destination weddings, vintage weddings or days filled with lots
of flowers and pretty things.'
What inspires you when it
comes to your work?
'I am always looking
for ways to improve my fine art approach – this means always searching for the prettiest light, trying to capture the natural beauty and emotion of the moment, and
striving to see things differently and in a way that the client will love.'
How would you describe your
signature style?
'My fine art style is defined by warm tones, soft natural
light and all the pretty details. I like my photographs to look natural, relaxed, flattering,
pretty and romantic.'
'I also love shooting just before sunset to capture that soft
warm light, which always looks so dreamy and works really well with my style.'
'During the wedding I shoot in a documentary style – for lots
of relaxed natural photos, to really capture the atmosphere of the day.'
'Whenever I am photographing the portrait part of the day I
give subtle direction so my couple feel happy and relaxed, to make the photos
as pretty and natural looking as possible.'
Can you provide a price guide?
'Currently I charge £1,650 for a full day wedding photography
package, starting with the getting ready photos and ending just after the first
dance. This includes a CD of approx. 600
– 800 images, with each image professionally edited to a high-end finish.'
If you weren't a wedding
photographer, what would you be?
'I actually can't imagine being anything other than a
photographer now as I love it so much and it is truly my dream job. I just feel so lucky that I can do something
so creative and fun! I get to meet so many lovely couples and go to so
many amazing places– plus I get to work from home in the countryside the rest of
the time which I love – so I can’t
think of anything else I would rather be doing!'
'Please get in touch and tell me all about your day – I love
all weddings, but special offers are sometimes available to very creative couples
that have a unique wedding planned or a unique location. Some great deals are often available for last
minute bookings or out of season weddings.'
