A 1950’s Retro Yellow Kitchen Inspired Engagement Shoot…

It's been aaaaages since I featured any kind of engagement or love shoot on Love My Dress, but this gorgeous set of photographs sent in to me recently by the lovely Laura Lawson of Lawson Photography is about to change all that.

I just adore this shoot, I adore the 1950's style kitchen, the yellow, the laughter and how much fun do the couple look as though they are having?  This beautiful blonde by the way goes by the name of Elizabeth Lois, who is a wedding photographer herself (and who's work I have previously featured on Love My Dress here!).  Elizabeth is due to marry her fiance Rhoddy next year and I just bloody love this set of photographs of the couple looking so happy (ecstatic!?) in each others company, having fun, mucking about – and yes, Elizabeth, I want that frock!

"Rhoddy and I are SO excited that you'd like to feature our faces on your blog! It's made our day 😀

We've
spent well over a year renovating a whole bunch of original 1950's
kitchen units, having collected them from up and down the UK and France.
We've had a lot of fun splattering paint everywhere and putting our own
stamp on the space, so it just seemed like the perfect opportunity to
have our engagement shoot coincide with finishing the kitchen!"

"We've
spent many a weekend rummaging around flea markets and antique shops to
collect fun and inspiration items for our home! I think if we weren't
photographers ourselves, we'd definitely have to run a prop house!!

We
have the cheekiest little house bunny Mr Buns, and he rules the roost
around here! So he obviously had to make an appearance too!"

"I
have a crazy obsession with flowers and as we're going to be getting
married abroad, in the winter, it may be one of the things that we might
have to compromise on a little for the wedding – so I just knew that I
had an excuse to have some sort of florally pretty thing made for the
shoot by one of my favourite florist friends who we've worked with on a
couple of weddings this year, Claire from
Lily and May. She made us an
amazing heart floral wreath as a prop for the shoot, which has lasted
weeks 😀

The Lawson's are amazing and we technically
booked them before we'd even confirmed our venue! They've really
captured so much fun and happiness in our shoot, what more could you
want! We're so excited to have them along for our wedding!"
