A Simple and Sweet Mori Lee Dress for a Berry Beautiful Wedding…

Afternoon my loves.  You know, for as much as we are here to inspire you with a plethora of ideas and a bucketful of detail and decor inspiration for your wedding day, there are some features we like to share just because they are damn nice wedding -  not loads of fuss, just a simple, sweet celebration.

Jane and James Berry tied the knot on Sunday 3rd June
2012 at Friern Manor Country House Hotel, Brentwood, Essex and their fuss-free day is a reminder that you don't have to get carried away with lots of fuss and detail for your wedding day.  You can even have the big white wedding dress, but keep it simple in design and silhouette, ensuring you look nothing but elegant when your day arrives.  Huge thanks to photographer Julia West of Julia and You for sending these lovely photographs in…

"I wore a Mori Lee wedding dress, purchased from Laura Louise bridal shop
in Upminster, Essex.  This was perfect for me, as I wanted a simple,
elegant yet big dress. Believe it or not, this was quite hard to find! I
chose this Mori Lee dress for its sweetheart neckline, very reasonable
price tag and it even has pockets!"

"We decided to go with a more casual but elegant themed wedding
where guests can relax and dance the night away. We didn’t want such a
formal affair and so introduced elements such as a fun photo booth to
create a fun talking point to the occasion. Playing on James’ surname
Berry, we decided to name the tables after various berries and gave
guests mini jam favours labelled with both our surnames to tie in with
the theme."

"A friend bought a very simple veil from Hong Kong which tied in nicely with my simple dress…"

"An old friend who is an amazing designer created our unique wedding
invites, menus, table plans and table place names. This was all themed
with berries to tie in with our surname."

"My three bridesmaids wore a slightly more ‘casual than normal’ bridesmaid dress which we got from the designer collection at Topshop."

"For favours, we wanted something small that could fit into guests’ handbags and
something that would be useful! We chose mini jam jars to fit in with
the berry theme and personalised it with both our surnames – HauBerry
Jam flavour!"

"Our Florists, Pollen Nation, were recommended by my photographer Julia West. I chose pale pinks and white flowers to compliment the bridesmaid’s dresses."

"A friend recommended our wedding photographer Julia to us. After looking at her website,
we loved her work and her background in all things weddings and so
emailed her for a quote. Unlike other photographers, I found her to be
very approachable, friendly and excited for our wedding. Julia took the
time to find out about us as a couple and used that to create photos
which captured us perfectly. Julia’s work is modern, fresh and fun and
exactly what we were looking for.

"James and I met in the
workplace. James is a teacher at a primary school and I was employed as a
receptionist on a maternity cover basis. After 1.5 years of dating,
James surprised me with a weekend trip to Paris for my birthday and
proposed to me in the Royal Gardens. Exactly six months later, we got
married."

"I didn’t want to spend loads on a wedding car but knew I wouldn’t fit into a normal car and so chose a white wedding taxi!"

"We chose our venue, Friern Manor Country House Hotel in Brentwood, Essex, for its beautiful surroundings and fairy tale ceremony room
(the ceiling is decorated with fairy lights). We also went for a menu
tasting session and loved the quality and portion size of the food."

"My favourite part of the day was seeing James at the end of the
altar. It was extra special as we had only just found out that we were
expecting our first child and chose this day to announce the news to
family and friends."

"We decided to go for a traditional Chinese fresh creamed cake made by my uncle and aunty of Hausons. We chose this cake as we wanted to include a touch of my culture in the wedding…"

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

"My advice to other brides would be,
don’t think too much on what others would think or say on your decisions
made and to make choices that would make you and your husband happy.
After all, that is the most important thing."
