Ladies, this afternoon, I'd like to turn your attention to the matter of bridesmaids dresses – burgundy bridesmaids dresses to be precise. Did you know, our sponsor Miss Bush Bridalwear – the best wedding boutique in Surrey and for miles around it, has just launched a brand new online venture called 'Little Miss Bush', dedicated solely to bridesmaids dresses. And we think it's rather brilliant!
Here's Little Miss Bush founder Emma Meek to tell us more. I think you might well be interested in what she has to say…
"Little Miss Bush was launched at the end of February to give a platform for fashion and bridesmaids to meet. The blog is very much in its infancy and is run by Cathie Farthing a fashion marketing student at the Fashion Retail Academy in London and Tegan Buxton, manager of the bridesmaids room at Miss Bush."

"Little Miss Bush will feature dresses we stock mixed with high street and high
end fashion. I am keen to receive submissions from photographers or
bloggers that have amazing bridesmaids images that will inspire brides
to be. The team will also be organising shoots, ‘how to’ features, mood
boards, and I shall be adding the odd discussion post with a touch of
controversy…"
Controversy? Not like you Miss Bush!
"Recently, and somewhat cheekily, the Little Miss Bush girls and I piggy-backed a photo-shoot at the Bride & Glory master class at Fetcham Park.
The reasons? Firstly, the event was between Valentine’s day & Mother’s Day so Gayle (of Bloomingayles) said we couldn’t have any pink, red or white flowers as the market price for they soar in price at that time of year. Instead, Gayle suggested blue, burgundy and purple.
Hmm…."
"After I stopped mimicking a cat with a fur ball, we got together an emergency mood board on Pinterest to gather some ideas and inspiration.
And I started to see the light! Also Grazia and various other fash’ mags have been touting the plum pout of late too, so who better than Carolanne Armstrong to deliver mesmerising merlot mouths you see here? Beautiful aren't they?"
"The girls all rocked their own individual hair flowers – each matched to
highlight the girls look and personality. It was intriguing to see how
some blooms just ‘worked’ on each girl – whilst I don’t want to add to
the stress of bridesmaids styling a uniform flower headpiece is
sometimes just not right!

"Amy blow wears anemones in her hair – ask your Florist about creating some floral headpieces in a similar style to match each bridesmaid's personality."
"The aim of this mini photo-shoot that we are sharing with Love My Dress readers today was to work wonders with a colour that had become rather tired in traditional bridesmaids usage and create a fashion moment. I also wanted to show how contrasting looks can reflect the different personalities of the bridesmaids and yet they still work beautifully together as a glam squad."
"We also experimented with some gowns on our flowergirls in preparation for a big photoshoot we're working on. Our little ladies are Minnie and Poppie, and they are wearing Nicki Macfarlane flowergirl dresses. Nicki Macfarlane is available to purchase from Miss Bush Bridalwear.
Minnie wears pale green silk ‘Harriet’ from £230 and Poppy wears pale pink silk Mathilda from £230."
You can visit the Little Miss Bush blog here. And Emma Meek can also be found at the helm over at Miss Bush Bridalwear too.
Well ladies, what say you? Do we have any lovers of
burgundy/plum/claret/whatever you want to call it reading this right
now? I'm rather adoring the shade, I have to say and have suddenly
realised I actually own a considerable number of items in this very hue –
and I love them!
Have a lovely afternoon,
Annabel
