Hello gorgeous Sunday people. Now, brides, Have you ever noticed how there seem to be a swathe of wedding fairs taking place all over the UK right now? There are probably several if not more occurring in your area right now, so how do you know which ones are worth making the effort to visit or not?
I make no secret of the fairs I love to support, and I do so for good reason – I've either attended them personally and know they are great, or, I've taken my time to under-take some research- asking those who exhibit and attend there to determine which are the great fairs.
One of the fairs that has received some really excellent feedback during my discussions with brides and exhibitors is The Miss

Vintage Wedding Affair
Amelia Barnes who runs the Miss
Vintage Wedding Affair is a true vintage obsessive.
Originally trained as a fine artist, she subsequently branched out into floristry
and China Hire. When she decided to get married she realised, that at the time,
the suburbs of Surrey didn’t really have much in the way of quirky, vintage
style wedding suppliers.
"Following the amazing success of the last Miss
Vintage Wedding Affair in October, we are having another show at the fabulous
and unique Battersea Arts Centre. This promises to be the most beautiful so
far, with the best selection of new, bespoke and vintage original wedding
dresses and accessories to browse from and buy on the day."

at the fair are true crafts people with skills and products that they are

“I
have been bowled over by the sheer number of talented crafts people in and
around London. I wanted to provide something to brides that couldn’t just be
ordered off the internet on-mass. Much of what was offered to me for my wedding
was part of a package, or had to be ordered, mass produced, from China with
high pressue sales techniques involved. So I made everything myself and
exhausted myself in the process! I wanted to change this.
At my fair you can
come and talk to the person who will make your wedding dress, or discuss the
exact colour of your handmade porcelain favours”
For her own wedding, Amelia bought over five different
vintage wedding dresses off eBay, only one of which fitted! There had to be an
easier way of planning a vintage wedding! In the years that followed, as she built up
her vintage china hire and bespoke floristry company, Vintage Floral Teas, she
found that she came into contact with lots of lovely vintage suppliers. So she decided
to bring a bit of vintage chic to South London brides for them to get exactly
what they wanted! High quality, quirky and creative suppliers for a really
personal, artistic wedding day!
Miss
Vintage Wedding Affair is a unique wedding fair for creative,

Live Music…
We will have a great line up of live music on the day of the fair, including
Mr Tune our resident vintage DJ. Musicians such as guitarist Chris Ward will be
performing throughout the day at the fair in the tearoom so come and have a
listen over a scone and tea!
What
else?
Brides will be able to chat to over 65 different
bespoke suppliers from and around the Surrey, Sussex and London area about how
they can help create their handmade day! There will be florists, cake
designers, photographers, hair and beauty experts, bespoke stationers and vintage
bridal wear companies (who’ll be selling their dresses on the day!.
Can I have
lunch?
You can relax in the lovely vintage inspired tearoom where well-deserved refreshments can be
found run by the amazing Christina Reynolds of Vintage Feast and her team. As
well as serving tea, coffee and sparkling wine, this is Vintage Feasts sample
menu for the day.
Doorstep sandwiches:
- Home baked glazed ham with mustard
- Roast beef and horseradish
- Mature cheddar and pickle
- Homemade quiche with salad
- scones with clotted cream and jam
- selection of cakes such as:

About the venue:
The BAC is an award-winning theatre
venue in London, renowned for its innovative, accessible and high quality arts activities… they also do really lovely weddings
for your less than typical bride and groom. Steeped in theatrical history
Battersea Arts Centre offers the perfect creative environment for any special
occasion. This Grade II* listed Victorian Town Hall is fast becoming one of the
most sought after venues in south London.
The Grand Hall and Octagonal Hall and the main foyer are all licensed for Civil
Ceremonies.
The Miss
Vintage Wedding Affair will be held on Sunday 17th
March 2013 between 11am- 4pm at Battersea
Arts Centre, The Grand Hall, Lavender Hill, Battersea, London, SW11 5TN. Admission is just £3
