Good morning all, in the true sense of the word 'vintage', I've a wedding to share with you today that draws on many elements of the past to set the tone of a beautiful modern-day wedding. Mary and William got married on 5th October last year at Daylesford Organic Farm near Kingham in Gloucestershire – a beautiful spot in the Cotswolds known for it's amazing food. The couple were assisted by on-the-day Co-ordinator Jessie Thomson.
Mary wore her mum's original vintage wedding dress and veil and in my opinion, looks so chic! I love the other little vintage elements that have been playfully brought in to this wedding too, including that beautiful 20's inspired trailing bouquet.
"William and I met at boarding school over ten years ago. We became best friends at University and started dating when we both were living in London. We finally got engaged after five years of dating and were married less than a year later. We wanted country chic style wedding but with a strong sense of tradition; Daylesford Organic Farm provided the most amazing food, flowers, and beautiful scenery. I wore my mother’s vintage wedding dress and got married in the Church of England for a splash of tradition."

"I wore my my mother’s dress that is over 30 years old. We restored the dress in La Jolla California where my mother originally had bought her dress – it is made out of beautiful Belgian Lace. It's such a stunning dress and you just cannot find this type of lace or material in modern dresses. The quality was of the most importance to me and I loved that it had been worn by my mother on her wedding day.
I also wore my mothers restored silk tulle wedding veil."
"When it came to our flowers, we hired Jane Packer Flowers to produce the bridal party bouquets. Our Church florist was Eden Flowers Burford and for the reception, we used the amazing in-house florist at Daylesford Organic Farm."
Just look at the detail on this dress readers! It really is something quite special. The dress wasn't the only true vintage element to William and Mary's wedding, Mary's antique engagement ring dated back to the 1920s…
Mary's pretty open toe heels were by Oscar de la Renta.
"Our photographer was Debs Ivelja, who has an amazing eye and knows how to capture those real moments. Her candid shots really show the essence of the wedding, and allow me to relive my favourite moments over and over."
"We hired a vintage double decker bus for our guests and a Land Rover Defender as our newly wed transport!"
"I loved the reception part of the day – the dinner, my husbands speech to me and seeing all of the people I love sitting around me in beautiful candlelight."
"We did a choreographed dance to 'Home', by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros – it's a modern, yet appropriate wedding song.
Such a beautiful day, and such an incredibly stylish bride – Mary's Mum's dress looks as stylish today as it would have done back when her Mother originally wore it. What is it they say, fashions fade, style is eternal? Never truer a word in this instance.
We'd like to thank lovely Debs Ivelja for sharing her photography with our readers today. You can see more of Debs's beautiful photography on Love My Dress here – or take a moment to visit her website.
