We know that our readers adore timeless, elegant, sophisticated designs, and so we're pretty confident that a good few of you are going to love the new Timeless Beauty collection from bridal wear designer Alan Hannah.
I've a great deal of respect and admiration for designers Marguerite and Alan Hannah, especially as they are so committed to ensuring that each and every one of their gowns is 'Made In Britain' – not an easy thing for a brand to adhere to in a day and age when every other bridal wear designer is choosing to have their gowns manufactured cheaply overseas.
The tasteful new Timeless Beauty collection, which boasts stunning and highly feminine silhouettes, is now available in boutiques and stores who stock Alan Hannah, both in the UK and abroad. Brand new dresses like Dolores (above and below) can be transformed by the optional accessories which can change the dress dramatically.
The detachable peplum on the Dolores gown can be removed and the dress is instantly transformed when this is replaced with the tulle over skirt and fur wrap which changes the whole look from simple Gallic elegance to a very romantic and soft full skirt. This could be worn for the ceremony and the peplum version for the evening. This dress could also be worn with a simple belt for another occasion altogether and look different again.
I'm a little in love with the Bettie design – a deceptively simple silhouette which is dramatically highlighted with the beautiful gold metallic French lace used on the bodice. I've a mild obsession with gold when it comes to bridal styling right now and adore how this gown has been teamed with this coronet inspired gold headpiece called Byzantium, which has hand made gilded ceramic leaves, freshwater pearls and crystals and was inspired by both the colour of the lace and the drama of the breathtaking golden mosaics of Ayia Sophia in Istanbul.
Possibly my favourite design in this collection is the Bacall gown – a stunning couture silhouette in beautiful guipure lace with fitted sheer sleeves and back. I simply adore the shape of this gown, the full length sleeves, the lace, the button down back, the sheer sexiness of it.
This gown is currently available from White Room in Mullingar, Angelica Bridal in Islington, Rachel Scott in Edinburgh, and The Wedding Shop Alderley Edge.
Head designer Marguerite has created a collection with lovely simple elegant lines like Evita for instance, but also some very intricate detailing on dresses like Gwyneth which sparkle with Swarovski crystal beadwork and have a real Art Deco feel – pefect for the Love My Dress bride.
