The Lovettes 2014 ~ Meet Our Blogging Brides

Good morning and happy Friday readers! I hope you’re having a wonderful Valentine’s Day.

As I can hardly contain my excitement, I’m going to get straight to the point. After reading through over 150 entries, and much deliberation, Annabel and I have selected the four lucky ladies who will make up our inaugural team of blogging brides here at Love My Dress®. Without further ado, may I present The Lovettes

Meet Madeleine! One of our very first blogging brides and member of the Lovettes 2014 team.

Madeleine lives in Folkestone, Kent and works as an Events Co-ordinator for the charity SANDS. She loves nothing more than ‘losing a Sunday afternoon in the pub to raspberry beers and good conversation, before cooking a (vegetarian) roast from scratch followed by [her fiancé’s] apple crumble with lashings of vanilla custard.’ She’s also a bit of a bookworm and can often be found ‘reading… everything from ghost stories, to bios, to puddingy rom-coms; preferably whilst camping, with grass between [her] toes, dirt under [her] fingernails and rum punch in [her] belly.’

Madeleine and her fiancé Tim will be saying ‘I do’ in New York on 3rd October 2014 and then celebrating with friends in family at their Whitstable wedding reception on the 23rd.

‘I am absolutely delighted to have been selected as part of The Lovette’s! I was tickled pink just to have been quoted on your Facebook page (as I scrolled through my news feed it was the last thing I was expecting to come across!) but this is just fantastic! You have made this bride-to-be very happy and I feel so honoured to think that my wedding planning journey will be shared with your wonderful readers. To be part of something so exciting is an absolute dream and I cannot wait to make a little bit of Love My Dress history!’

Say hello to Kay! One of our very first blogging brides and member of the Lovettes 2014 team.

Kay is studying for a BSc in International Business, Finance and Economics at Manchester University. She adores banoffee pie, quiz shows and her beloved Dr. Martens, which happen to be older than she is!

Kay is set to marry Sam on 3rd August 2015.

‘I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am to be joining Love My Dress as a Lovette. When I first read that Annabel and Franky were searching for a team of blogging brides, I knew instantly that I was going to apply but I never believed I would be chosen! After I digested the news and eventually got my screaming under control, the inevitable uncertainty began to creep in – what if I’m extremely boring? What if my wedding descends into a chaotic mess? But my fiancé reassured me that I have nothing to worry about and that being able to share the next 18 months of my life with you wonderful readers will be the most amazing experience. Not only will you be with me through my wedding planning, you’ll see me through my graduation, starting my first job, finding my first home with Sam and walking down the aisle. I really do feel privileged and over the moon to be sharing this time with you all!’

Lindsey

Lindsey lives in Glasgow with her fiancé Jonathan. The couple are due to marry at Crear on 28th March 2015.

By day, Lindsey works on a project which seeks to raise awareness of and enable action to tackle the gender pay gap. She feels very lucky to be doing something she feels so passionate about for a living. When she’s not absorbed in wedding stuff, you can usually find Lindsey hunched over her sewing machine, out running or daydreaming about her next scuba diving trip.

‘When the email arrived telling me I had been selected to be a Lovette I was just over the moon! Planning my wedding has been the most fun since I discovered Love My Dress, and I can’t believe I get to document the journey and share my dos, do nots and ‘I dos’ with your readers. We are at such an early stage, with only our venue, photographer and celebrant booked, so there is so much still to come. Blogging about the whole process will hopefully give Love My Dress devotees new ideas for their own wedding plans, provide some solidarity for all those moments of wedding planning tension, and also give Jonathan and I an amazing way to look back on the whole period when we finally tie the knot. I feel so lucky to be chosen and I cannot wait to share my ideas with the Love My Dress followers.’

Say hi to Rosie! One of our very first blogging brides and member of the Lovettes 2014 team.

Rosie, a Learning and Development Consultant from Christchurch in Dorset, runs the popular lifestyle blog A Rosie Outlook in her spare time. She is head over heels in love with her fluffy little white Schnoodle dog, Bodhi and enjoys long, indulgent bubble baths and walks by the seaside or in the forest where she lives.

Rosie and Tom are getting hitched in an 18th century water mill in the middle of the countryside on 18th April 2015.

‘I am so, so, excited to have been chosen to be a part of The Lovettes and share my wedding planning journey with the amazing Love My Dress community. Love My Dress has already been a source of immense inspiration and information in the planning I’ve done so far and to have a platform on the site to share my excitement and experiences is such a wonderful opportunity. I can’t wait to share our ideas and wedding dreams with you all as we turn the scribbles in my wedding notebook into reality! A humongous thank you to Love My Dress from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be part of this exciting new series.’

Aren’t they fabulous?! I hope you’ll all join Annabel and me in giving Madeleine, Kay, Lindsey and Rosie a warm welcome to the blog. We can’t wait to start reading their posts and join them on their journey to saying ‘I do’!

Love Franky
