It might well be Easter Sunday (how much chocolate already?!?) but its also been a very busy time of late with many designers launching new collections and vying for space on the wedding blogs to showcase their new creations to the world.  I thought I'd loan our page space today to two designers whose collections have really grabbed my attention this season, starting with Elizabeth Stuart.

I was unable to attend her independent runway show held at B1 Victoria House earlier this month in support of Cancer Research UK, an event beautifully styled by fellow blogger and wedding planner/stylist Penelope Cullen of Love Scarlett – though these photographs do a pretty darn good job of helping transport me to what was clearly a pretty breathtaking experience – the catwalk looked spectacular!

Often described as 'modern fairytale', Elizabeth Stuart's gowns are produced in the most luxurious fabrics with the modern bride in mind – a woman who appreciates a chic fashion aesthetic to her bridal wear.

'Elizabeth Stuart has harmonised modern, elegant designs with the most luxurious fabrics and quality, to ensure that any bride radiates a glow from within on her most unforgettable and magical of days.'

The stand-out designs in this new Autumn 2014 collection for me are these crop top and skirt separates – though I admit they're not a style for every bridal 'figure', I feel I can forgive Elizabeth for that. This is Sex in the City, Carrie Bradshaw knock-out modern elegance at it's very finest.

I loved reading about how the brand came to be on Elizabeth's website:

'While planning my wedding in 2009, I had come to the conclusion that the dress for me didn't exist.  I remember thinking how similar they all looked.  In fact, I can recall the store associate holding up two gowns as possible options and I genuinely thought she had two of the same dress.  If the uniqueness of the dress came first, then the quality of the fabric definitely ran a close second as I wanted to feel as beautiful as I looked.'

'So what did I want? I wanted a dress that was fashion forward, completely unique, luxurious, and sophisticated all rolled into one.  Apparently I am not alone!  I have had many brides-to-be discuss the same difficulty they had when looking for the perfect dress. As a result, we have put together a collection, that allows you as a bride, to be set apart from the rest with fun, playful, yet luxurious skirts, soft feminine structured bodices, beautiful beaded accents…and finally an aspect of independence and sensuality that defines your new and wonderful beginning.'

Elizabeth's beautifully feminine new collection was inspired by the romance and enchantment of the changing seasons;

'The exquisite silk organza and tulle fabrics create a modern and soft silhouette, with stunning scalloped lace highlighting the beautiful designs of the gowns. By incorporating delicate laser cut flowers to embody the blooms of springtime, and the delicate nudes and pink silks to represent the changing of the leaves, the fabrics adorn and bring to light the beauty of a woman’s feminine curves.'
