I simply had to share these runway images that we received from bridal wear designer Claire Pettibone this week – they showcase Claire’s most recent collection, ‘Romantique’ and oh my, I truly think you’re going to love these.
I’m always so impressed with how Claire Pettibone manages to produce such fresh, feminine designs each year – it must have been a pretty tall order to create a selection of gowns as charming as her previous Still Life collection, but she has, and she has done it with sheer perfection.
‘Romantique’ is described as ‘a little Moroccan villa with a touch of English garden’, these designs just ooze bohemian glamour. Let’s see what you think…
I adore the hint of grecian style and 70’s references, like those billowing sleeves and maxi dress style – these are graceful and poetic gowns and utterly perfect for the bride who prefers a less formal, less traditional bridal style – perfect for those of you who might be planning an outdoorsy, festival inspired, summer wedding.
The runway styling here is just so pretty – I love the hint of an orange red lip, and long, lose, wavy locks. I adore the addition of sweet little sprigs of gypsophila in the hair and how that really captures the laidback and yet incredibly elegant essence of the whole collection. This is a set of gowns designed for brides who are relaxed and care free – how could all that gorgeous floaty fabric be for any one else?
Of course, this collection simply couldn’t have belonged to anyone else. Claire Pettibone has such a strong signature style all of her very own – I can spot one of her gowns a mile off for it’s super-feminine detailing – usually involving florals and other pretty, whimsy design features. Claire is inspired by nature, fairies and folklore, something I think is very evident in every one of her collections – which in my view are consistently the prettiest and most feminine every single season.
