Eclectic Eccentricity: Charming, Quirky Jewellery For the Inquisitive of Heart and Inquiring of Mind

If you follow me on Instagram, you might well have noticed this unusual and beautiful little necklace I shared an image of earlier. It was sent as a little gift from Eclectic Eccentricity – purveyors of quirky, charming little trinkets and items of jewellery – perfect, I thought for a bridesmaids gift or birthday present for your Sister, Mum or best friend.

Isn’t that pretty? It’s the Nimue Quartz necklace if you’re interested.  And it’s only £19.

It’s funny because Eclectic Eccentricity was one of the very first brands I shared with my readers back in 2009.  I love this little company too!  The brand was established back in 2004 by  former Maths and Astrology degree student, Lucy Crick.

From its humble beginnings on Lucy’s living room table, Eclectic Eccentricity has now grown into a small Empire of loyal customers, celebrity fans and worldwide stockists.

Lucy still  feeds her inner geek, combining and considering intelligent, precise design with beautiful and imaginative motifs, devoting hours to creating new pieces, sourcing components to creating new stories and ascribing names to the designs, which has seen the brand flourish.

I love this little company and am really fond of Lucy’s designs – I love my new necklace.

It’s great to see them go from strength to strength with their charming and quirky items of jewellery.

Now managed from a Norwich based studio located near the picturesque Cathedral, Eclectic Eccentricity is run by Lucy and a small team of crafty, thoughtful types who like to contemplate the meaning of life whilst conjuring jewellery-based magic. Or, as Lucy told me, on less caffeinated mornings, ‘who’s having what for elevenses’.

“We pride ourselves on providing the best, most top notch service you could ever wish to receive. Every enquiry we receive is dealt with by a real person who very much cares that you’re happy. We’ll respond quickly, efficiently, and in the smiliest way that is humanly possible. Even if it’s grey outside.”

Eclectic Eccentricity specialise in reimagining vintage components in to pretty items of jewellery that are so delightful, you would probably want to wear them every day.  I love how Lucy and her design team combine a flair for the quirky with a strong sense of British craftsmanship – everything is made here in Britain.

“We draw inspiration from every creative corner we discover. Unearthing quaint curios and exquisite gems; we piece them together with old trinkets and treasures found hidden away for years. This is the heart of EE: each and every piece weaves a tale, from its individual components, a new story is made. We sell jewellery with stories to tell.”

The images you see on the page here today are from the Spring/Summer 2014 collection for Eclectic Eccentricity, entitled simply ‘Muse’. Think the drama of Ophelia’s auburn hair amidst watery reeds, religious iconography, nature as decoration, stars, crystals and stormy skylines transcribed into a collection of contemporary jewellery and you have Muse.

“We are delighted with our new Collection which celebrates beauty beyond the conventional. We have channelled our inner art lover to create an entire range inspired by the detailed, intense and lush paintings of one of history’s most daring art movement – the Pre-Raphealites.”

In ‘Muse’, Eclectic Eccentricity have combined iconic paintings’ ideals of romance and friendship, alongside their attraction with their love for strong geometric shapes.  Vintage brass depictions of flora and fauna, exciting and cheerful gem stones each create an amazing range that includes necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings and even a regal crown or two.
