Covet Love: A Sensational Scent, Gold Shoes And The Ultimate Sofa

For a while now, I’ve been wanting to start a weekly feature that takes a step aside from weddings and introduces you to a little more about the people and personalities behind Love My Dress®.  On thinking about how I could do this recently, I came up with the idea of ‘Covet Love’, a regular Friday lunch time feature where me and my team could share images and links to a few of the beautiful things we’ve been lusting after of late.  Afterall, we all love a bit of a nosey inside the minds of others – to see what they love, like and appreciate, don’t we? 🙂

To kick-start our new series, I thought I’d share some of the items I’ve been coveting myself this past week.

The humble t-shirt is an item of fashion that has so far evaded my adventures in retail therapy.  For years, I’ve longed for a decent tee – one that doesn’t shrink or become misshapen in the wash, one that doesn’t cling too much or on the other hand, help your upper torso resemble a sack of spuds.  All hail the Narda Tee from Anthropologie (1). I actually accidentally ordered two of these tees in navy blue last week and I LOVE them. They are so beautifully made and are really flattering with jeans or a skirt, so at £48, I can justify the price tag.  I’m totally coveting this pink version below.

My appetite for shoes with metallic detail is gorging on a feast of summer beauties right now – the ‘Hopeful Heeled Sandal’ from ASOS (2) won’t be sitting in my online shopping basket for much longer. I’ll be ordering them today.

Last week, our writer Susie shared a brilliant piece about how to choose the perfect wedding perfume.  Today I was lucky enough to receive a sample scent from Bloom Perfumery, who featured in Susie’s piece.  Oh my, I am in total love – this scent is divine!  It is the ‘Anima Dulcis’ perfume by Arquiste (3).  IT’s a deep, earthy and wonderfully sensual scent, I can’t express my love of it through adequate words right now.  55mls will set you back £125 and it’s sadly out of stock at the moment but I’ll be keeping an eye on this page and ordering as soon as it becomes available.

My lovely friend Issidora who also happens to be a ridiculously talented Hair & Make-up Artist, gifted me a Laura Mercier lip glacé (4) in the colour ‘Bonbon’ a few weeks back. I adore this product – it’s a quick fix to instant glam when you might be feeling a little tired and worn out from being chained to your desk all day.  I want to fill my handbag with all of the shades.

Now, this time last year, I hate to say it, but I became the victim of a scam. I ordered a sofa from ‘Infurn.com’ – a company who looked perfectly reputable online.  Having placed my order for a lovely new sofa for our living room, I quickly came to realise that something was amiss.  To cut a long story and many stressful emails and phone calls later, it transpires I was never going to receive my goods, or indeed my £750 back.  I’ve gotten over it all now, but I still really want to get a beautiful new sofa for our family living area and this gorgeous Willoughby sofa (5) would be absolutely perfect. I don’t think you can actually still get this sofa through Anthropologie anymore, so I may have to shift my focus of lust over to a George Smith sofa instead.

Since I’ve been eating well, working out and juicing daily, I’ve gained so much more confidence in how I look.  I’m loving wearing pretty Summer dresses that were perhaps a little shorter than I might have enjoyed wearing before.  This lovely Naida embroidered dress (6) from Anthropologie is on my shopping list.

Following my discovery of Shell Belle Couture at The White Gallery, I’ve become smitten with this brand of luxury silk pieces ‘for the beautifully undressed’.  I already own a divine, hand-crafted silk camisole top that I wear with my jeans so I’m aware of the very high quality of these designs. I am so coveting the ‘Love Me Kimono’ (7).  It has a £175 price tag but I simply need it. I know you’ll understand.

I’m a huge fan of clean lines, good pattern cutting and timeless designs.  I’d far rather spend more on an investment piece for my wardrobe than something that will be out of fashion in 3 months time.  Can I find the perfect shirt dress with an elegant hemline however? Can I heck! I am chomping on the bit for this clean cut navy version by Charlie Brear (8) to become available.
