Monteluce Winery Wedding

An Effortlessly Elegant Black Tie Vineyard Wedding at Montaluce Winery in Georgia

Jaelin and Daryan were married in the Spring at Montaluce Winery in Dahlonega, Georgia, choosing the vineyard for its Italian setting ahead of their honeymoon in Italy. They wanted the atmosphere of a destination wedding without leaving home, and the beautiful landscape and rolling vines delivered just that.

Jaelin wore a Magnolia Laine Bridal gown by Madi Lane, discovered at the very first appointment she attended in Georgia. The colour y ellow ran throughout the styling, from the butter toned bridesmaids’ dresses to the florals, balanced with a classic black tie look. The ceremony took place outdoors overlooking the vineyard, with Jaelin’s mother walking her down.

Jaelin kept her father close with a reserved chair and a small pendant photo woven into her bouquet. For the reception she changed into Reformation, and their first dance was to Die With A Smile by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars.

Beautiful photography by Kayla Enid. Enjoy!

I love the colour yellow and shared a Pinterest board with my twin sister, so we created ideas and themes around what we had seen on Pinterest. My sister also helped style the day and Daryan gave input on colours for the men’s suits as well, so a great collaboration went on!

Our venue was Montaluce Winery in Dahlonega, Georgia. Our honeymoon was going to be in Italy, so we wanted a theme of Italian-like romantic scenery for our location. Almost like a destination wedding, but local!

The Dress

Magnolia Laine Bridal

My dress was from Magnolia Laine Bridal in Smyrna and the designer was Madi Lane. I visited three bridal shops here in Georgia to find the perfect dress, and the one I chose was the very first one I tried on at the first location.

It was very spring and princess-looking, so I fell in love with it and kept trying to compare the other dresses to it along the way, and I knew I had to choose it.

Hair styling was by Brides by Deanna and my makeup artist was by Erica Bogart. My shoes were by Anthropologie.

My bridesmaids and groomsmen wore attire from Birdy Grey – the colours were midnight navy blue and butter/pastel yellow. The colours were unironically my father’s high school Alma Mater colours, so that was even sweeter of a connection.

The Ceremony

I had my mother accompany me down the aisle during the ceremony and it was to Endless Love by Mariah Carey and Luther Vandross.

We honoured my late father with a chair for him, accompanied by florals and his picture. I also had a pendant chain on my florals to walk down the aisle with my father’s picture on it.

Our ceremony officiant was Your Wedding Your Way. We had religious Christian readings read by close family members during the ceremony.  We wrote private vows that we would like to keep private.

Daryan’s suit matched the groomsman except he wore a white under shirt and the groomsman wore black to match the midnight blue suits. They were all rented from BlackTux.

How They Met

We met at Whole Foods, where we both worked back in 2017. Daryan had already worked there for some years and was in college at the time. I had just started around October that year to get a college job as well.

When I first saw him, I thought he was so cute and sweet. I literally became friends with him and his friend group the first week I started. I was in need of friends because I had just moved to GA, and it was the same month my father had passed away. Having in out with him and our shared friends really cheered me up in that time of need.

He came off as very smart and kind, so that’s what drew me to him. I was very shy as I hadn’t dated before being a late bloomer, so I knew I had a crush on him, but didn’t want to be too forward.

He honestly made the first step in blooming the relationship. He had asked me to hang out 1 on 1 instead of with our group at some point that year. I declined, being the shy person I was, but still knew I liked him. Eventually, he graduated from college and began his actual career job, while I was still at Whole Foods.

We lost connection for maybe a year, and he focused on work while I focused on graduating. The first time we met again was a year and a half later, after he left Whole Foods, so this was the holiday time in 2019.

It was yet again with our group of friends to grab sushi this time. After the meet up, he texted me on his own and asked to go out one on one again.

I accepted this time, and it was the best decision ever! We started to officially date and became a couple on 1/26/2020. We had the sweetest memories and adventures dating for three years!

He proposed on 10/28/23. I am a horror movie fanatic, and our years of dating have been filled with me enjoying his love of video games and conventions related to it, and the holiday season being a big thing for us, especially Halloween, since I love horror.

It was special for him to have the proposal be at a horror haunted maze/attraction at Netherworld here in Georgia.

He had the actors portraying monsters at the attraction in the proposal as well! Our close family waited for us on the other end of the maze to capture pictures.

The Reception

For our reception, I changed into a dress by Reformation.

Our flowers were by Blosm Design and It’s The Floral Girl. I looked a mostly white floral arrangement but since the bridesmaid dresses were yellow and it was getting close to spring I wanted yellow incorporated as well.

Our stationery was by Minted and our cake was by Frosted Pumpkin Gourmet.

I loved our first dance because we are both pretty shy and awkward showing emotion and romantic gestures in front of friends and family, but we had practiced it for days that I actually got excited to showcase it and looking up at my husband during the dance portion made my nerves go away! It was danced to Die with a Smile by Last Gaga and Bruno Mars. The guests cheered and “Aww’d” the entire time.

Favourite Moments

I think the top moment was seeing my now husband in the vineyard field waiting for me with his eyes closed for our first look/private vows. I could see him grinning with excitement, but trying to contain it since he was emotional as well. I walked out and in front of him, and our photographer directed him to open his eyes, and he immediately started crying and saying how beautiful I was.

I was giggling a lot because I was in awe of how handsome he looked and how sweet the moment was for both of us. We read our vows with shaky voices. Sweetest moment since it was just the 2 of us before the wedding started. My second favorite moment was morning glam time; it was so much fun. It was in a cabin in north GA and very bright skies that day. We listened to early 2000s pop and had old TV shows playing on in the background.

My twin sister was my maid of honour, and as kids, we loved the TV shows playing Sister Sister starring Tia and Tamera, so we had that playing while we got ready.

All of the bridesmaids loved the outcome of their looks, as everyone had different styles, and I was pretty lenient on how I wanted the makeup and hair to look because I know people can be uncomfortable with certain styles, so I wanted everyone to enjoy their day in how they ended up looking.

Words of Wedded Wisdom

Please be sure to get a planner because balancing work and other appointments while getting stuff marked off of the deadline list is hectic, and starting off by creating your vision can be confusing without a planner.

We prioritised staying on budget. Always stay in budget and really keep at the top of the list what you think is most important to include in the wedding, even if it is expensive, and prioritise cutting costs in other places you deem the guests or both of you will notice or care about if it is missing.

Maybe more ways to get shy dancers  up and moving with the rest of the crowd would have been good?

But the wedding was perfect!
